ocular opulence.

one.

i have been told

that i have

cat eyes.

gold-fading-green

and always watching.

two.

i thought the cat had

my eyes

contented purr rumbling

with just the

slightest

taste of sadness.

three.

his hope

came over me

in waves.

dark eyes

blazing

like the sun

and dropping

like mercury

into

small balls

that burned

my star-struck

eyes.

four.

i was

disarmed

by his smile,

my eyes

shifting

like

magnetic poles.

as all good sense

came

tumbling

from my brain

my love was

fiber-optic

and feline.
